In Santa Maria, you can't have real red-oak bbq without beans, salsa and bread (sorry ladies, salad is optional). The way we get the bread perfect is by melting butter in a big pan with salt and garlic. You can use Suzy Q's too. We cut the bread lengthwise and dip it in the butter pan. A quick slap on the grill to warm it up and give it a char and then we slice it. These butter pans will make your friends cower at the next-level bbq master that you are.
